You’re not just hiring another guy with tools — You’re getting a seasoned RV professional

RVTI Level 4 - Master Technician Certification

Hi, I’m Matt McArdle, founder of Trailside Tech’s—RV Repair Anywhere.

I didn’t just learn RVs in a service bay; I spent 13+ years designing and testing them from the inside out as a Senior Design Engineer and Engineering Manager for Winnebago and Palomino. That background taught me how every system should work—and how to make it right when it doesn’t. I bring that engineer’s mindset to every job: methodical diagnostics, OEM-level standards, and repairs that hold up when you’re a thousand miles from home.

Today I’m an RVTI Level 4 Master Technician, and I built Trailside Tech’s around a simple idea: keep people moving. I know what it’s like to plan a long-awaited trip and lose a day to a stubborn slide, a moody water heater, or a fridge that quits at the worst time. My job is to meet you where you are—national forest, lakeside site, driveway, or trailhead—diagnose fast, explain clearly, and leave you confident it’s fixed. I stock common failure parts, carry pro-grade test equipment, and back my work with clear documentation so you know exactly what was done and why.

Because I travel, I post my current location on the homepage and update it regularly. Even if I’m not near you today, I may be passing through soon or able to reroute—that’s the freedom of a fully mobile shop. Reach out, tell me your timeline and route, and I’ll work to put you on my schedule or plan a meet-up window that fits your trip.

I value communication and efficiency, doing the job right the first time, every time

I’ll walk you through what I’m seeing, why it failed, and the options to make it right—no mystery invoices, no “trust me” language. Along the way, I’ve been honored to appear on the cover of RV PRO Magazine (July 2023) and to co-invent a U.S. patent (No. 62/772,297) for an innovative tool mechanism—problem-solving is part of my DNA. Customers tell me they appreciate the clean workspace, the respect for their time and campsite, and the way I leave things better than I found them.

I’m a Certified Truma Dealer and factory-trained across Furrion, Dometic, Lippert, ASA In-Command, Firefly, Winegard, Blue Ox, CAN-bus systems, and Xantrex. I also service RV generators—from routine maintenance and load testing to diagnosing hard-start and voltage issues. Whether it’s appliances, electronics, chassis, slide-outs, or structural components—if it’s part of an RV, chances are I’ve designed it, fixed it, or improved it.

“Spot-Me” Perk: I’m chasing a dream to live free and work on the road. If you happen to be in the same campground, catch me at a truck stop, or see me at a trailhead—and I’m able to help—I’ll take 50% off my initial service/diagnostic fee. Just say you “spotted me.” (Subject to availability.)
